From an aerial viewpoint, Star Island Yacht Club resembles a jig saw puzzle piece floating on the ocean, or perhaps, fittingly, an irregular star. What is certainly does not resemble, though, is the rundown boat yard it was before Sam Gershowitz and his team took it on. "As you can see," Gershowitz says with well-deserved pride, "it's a beautiful place. It's a yacht club and a marina, and we cater to people here. It's not," he adds, "a boat yard anymore."
