Mike from Star Island Yacht Club let me know it was slow due to the storm but he did know of some guys who got out after the storm and had yellowfin within 40 to 50 miles from the point. Porgy fishing was decent the past few days, along with the sea bass on the rocky grounds south of the point like Cartwright and Frisbees. Fluking was slow to start after the storm came by.

Mike from Star Island Yacht Club let me know tuna are still around from the 10 to 30 miles range. Tuna Ridge, CIA and Butterfish are all holding a lot of life right now. Fluking is okay around the point. If you put in some time you will get your keepers. Porgies are large and numerous on the bottom grounds in front of the point.

Mike from Star Island Yacht Club let me know John on the Windy weighed in a 197-pound thresher shark with some Mako releases. It was another good week for fluking with a fair amount of 4 to 5-pounders. Porgy and sea bass fishing is excellent – you can catch as many as you want. Sea Dancer weighed in a striper over 50 pounds during the week. Mike did say he heard of multiple other 50s and even one pushing 60! All the fish are situated right in front of the point still.

Mike from Star Island Yacht Club let me know the striper bite has been solid down at the point during the past week on jigs and trolling. Bigger bluefish to 12 pounds moved in with the bass.
